What we love about Havana
"Did we simply go back to the 60's? Perhaps. Or on the other hand maybe it's Havana, that supernatural spot that time has as of late rediscovered. The city is a clutter of culture, music, and happiness. Dope streetcars cruise with their tops down as performers and old style musicians everywhere give a definitive get-away playlist. Old buildings are painted each shade of the rainbow and you'll bhave a hard time finding a face without a grin. FUN FACT: OK, don't be scared! That noisy blast you simply heard was just a cannon. Everyday at 9pm a gun is shot, a custom that was begun in the colonial times as a sign that the city doors were shutting for the evening. Havana has a warm, tropical atmosphere all year, so there are just two seasons you have to stress over: the wet and dry seasons. The dry one runs in the winter, and the best time to visit is the point at which the temperature drops and the skies clear, normally January and February."

Travel tips and Must Things to Do in Havana
"There is nothing like a stroll around old Havana's cobblestone roads. Humming shops, street sellers, and eateries are separated by the mojito bars everywhere. Take in the entirety of the vitality on Calle Obispo then find a ""calle"" all to yourself and let the city do the talking. You must wander around and check out old Havana after dark, follow the music to a subsequent story bar for an extraordinary view and genuine nearby's scene. If you like feeling like a Boss, just rent one of these beautiful old colorful and shiny Cadillac and discover the city like in style! Right before sunset, continue your journey down el Malecón and watch the sun kiss the ocean while the salt air fills your lungs. Pull over and get a mango from one of the street vendors along the way, and enjoy Cuban tangible over-burden."

Addresses to eat in Havana
Because of the U.S. embargo of the Island, it has been historically difficult for Cuba to import food products from abroad. The fact is that many countries must agree not to trade with Cuban authorities in order to continue trading with the US. (All of this is completely ludicrous IMO, but that is a story for another day.) Until recently, most of the restaurants in Cuba were state owned and must followed very strict guidelines. This means that the food provided in the government-owned restaurants is often a non-appetizing mix of rice/meat/beans. Fortunately, more recently, the government has begun permitting the establishment of privately-owned restaurants called Paladars. These restaurants have figured out a way to get the proper ingredients for delectable meals. More and more of these eateries have recently begun popping up throughout the island.
