- In the Congo, "Sape" is more than just dressing up. The Society of Ambiance-Makers and Elegant People promotes an art of living and seeing the world.
- One of the rituals of the sappers is the challenge, in which two or more sappers compete in public. We then witness an elaborate sartorial demonstration and a kind of verbal jousting where the public becomes a judge by encouraging and designating the winner with laughter and cheers.

What to Expect
As far back as we can remember, sappers have always been part of the Congolese environment. Particularly in the southern districts of Brazzaville, the favorite place of this movement. We invite you to discover through this tour, the society of ambiance-makers and elegant people (better known by the acronym SAPE) ; cultural and social movement originating in the Republic of Congo. This current is compared to dandyism and its followers, called the sappers, dress in this way with the great couturiers (or have their clothes designed on this model), and practice "Sapology", the art of "sapping" well.

Itinerary:
We'll start with a quick city tour :
We will visit first Basilic of Sainte-Anne,
Then we will go and visit the famous Poto-Poto painting school (discovery of paintings and learn about its history)
We'll explore the Total Market located "Quartier Populaire"
And then, we will head to the bar in Bacongo in order to drink local beverages and meet the Gentlemen of Bacongo.

Meet The Gentlemen of Bacongo will allow you to live a unique experience at the heart of the district which saw the birth of the SAPE movement. You will thus discover the history of this movement and the philosophy of the 'Sappers' thanks to the exchanges that you will have with the followers of this "religion." To top it off, you attend the show of the sappers through the art of "Djatance".

Where will we meet
We will meet at Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo - Pick-up at your hotel and from there the experience will start.

Experience occurs rain or sunshine.
Guests must confirm to the host, their hotel's address at least 1 day before the experience day in order to arrange the pickup. There is a tolerance of 15min maximum to wait for the guests.
