Join me for a special opportunity to learn more about Afro Brazilian history. I will take you through the historical streets, where you can see the buildings and meet the local characters. You will gain an understanding of how Little Africa was born and the contribution of African heritage to Brazilian culture. We will visit Pedra do Sal, an important heritage site for Samba, and Cais do Valongo, today a recognized world heritage site, where enslaved Africans first stepped foot in Brazil. You will have the opportunity to understand how the samba was born, candomblé and the culture of resistance around quilombo communities.

As an educator, I have a diverse set of academic and international experience from my studies at Columbia University, Institute of Human Rights , and Rotary Peace Fellow at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. My work is bringing the uncovered African history and ways to make a change and address current policy issues, like racial discrimination, and create historically dialogue in Brazil.
