About me
Hey, I am Kimiko, also known as KimikoVersatile. I'm originally from St. Ann, Jamaica. I began dancing professionally in 1998 at Naggo Head Primary School. By the time I got to high school I was being trained in modern contemporary, Jazz, Folk, Hip Hop and Folk. While doing this, I had the privilege of attending the Ashe Performing Arts Company where I was being trained by some of the greatest choreographer in Jamaica and also participated in dance, drama, music and edutainment. I further went on to study dance at the Edna Manley of the Visual and Performing Arts in 2005 where I received my diploma in Dance theatre and production. In 2011, I earned my Bachelor Of Fine Arts in Choreography and Performance. I was a dance Instructor at the first dancehall Studio in Jamaica called Dance Jamaica and a former member of the L’acadco Dance theatre company. I worked with major Local and International Recording Artists such as Sean Paul, Jason Derulo, Diana King, Sean Kingston, HER, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Beres Hammond, Busy Signal, only to name a few. I'm also one of the Choreographer for the newly premier Jamaican movie: KING OF THE DANCEHALL; which features well-known actors like Nick Cannon, Whoopie Goldburn and Busta Rhymes. I am a popular dancer and creator and I'm known and respected all over the world. I created popular dancehall moves such as watch di pumz, knock it up, cut and clear, sexy plus tax only to name a few. I am also the Director for a professional and versatile female dance group out of Jamaica and Latin America called ‘VersatileOnes’. My goal here is to share my culture and my passion for my beautiful island of Jamaica with the world and African diaspora worldwide.
